Back to all 'Conversion Courses'A two-year course leading to Diploma in Integrative Child Psychotherapy (UKCP registration).
This course is only open to candidates who are already UKCP registered who have substantial experience of working with children. Should a UKAPC or BACP registered counsellor wish to become UKCP registered this will take either three or four years (MA route).
Duration:
Tuesdays over 2 years with some additional training days
Conversion Course Training Modules include:
- Principles in child therapeutic practice
- Essential technique in child therapeutic counselling
- Image, metaphor and inner world through clinical work with children
- Child psychiatry
- The legal, ethical and child protection concerns for the therapist working with children/young people
- Parent/child work and family systems
- Essential neurobiology for the child therapist
- Baby observation
