Who should attend:

Counsellors, therapists, art therapists, Social workers, CAMHS workers, Educational psychologists, Behaviour and Learning support staff, residential care workers, staff in secure settings, PSHE/SEAL staff, SENCos, Learning Mentors.

 

Curriculum will include:
 

  • A psychological understanding of groups that heal and groups that harm
     
  • The initial contract with a group
     
  • Issues of boundaries, containment, beginnings and endings
     
  • Use of creative media and imagery in groups
     
  • Skills leading groups with children, teenagers, adults
     
  • Vital leadership skills for handling those tricky moments
     
  • Managing forming, norming and storming
     
  • Understanding how family experiences impact on how people are in groups
     
  • Understand a group’s process from different theoretical perspectives
     
  • How to ensure your group is healing for members not harmful
