Psychotherapy and counselling for adolescents and adults.
Group and individual supervision.
Andrea brings warmth, honesty and creativity to her therapeutic work and believes that the most healing part of therapy is the relationship created with you during this process. Â She offers the space to share difficult feelings in a safe and supportive atmosphere without judgement.
As an integrative therapist Andrea draws on a range of psychological approaches to be able to tailor the therapy to your needs which may change and develop as the therapy progresses.
As a supervisor Andrea uses creative and action methods and technique to allow for exploration, understanding and problem solving in a different way. This use of creative approaches enables imaginative enquiry into the therapeutic relationship and facilitates the emerging style of the supervisee. Andrea provides a safe and supportive environment in which supervisees can build on their own skills and insights as a practitioner, and in which they can reflect on any aspect of their profession and their client relationships.Â
Andrea currently works in S.E. London as a psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice and as a SEN Advisory Teacher for Social, Emotional & Mental Health (advising school staff, working across agencies, facilitating forums, co-ordinating a Mental Health Leads network and providing SEMH and Youth Mental Health First Aid Certificate Training).
Before training to be a psychotherapist she worked in the education sector for over 25 years as a teacher, Dyslexia tutor and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator working with students with pastoral and additional educational needs (Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia). Â
Andrea has a Masters degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education, a Diploma in Creative Approaches to Supervision from the London Centre for Psychodrama and a B.Ed. (Hons) degree.
