Art Therapy / Arts Psychotherapy
The Art Therapy course page offers training for students who wish to become qualified art therapists or adult counsellors. As part of this training path, we offer a Diploma in the Therapeutic Arts as an entry level course, followed by a 3-year clinical training, the MA in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, which leads to UKCP and HCPC registration, enabling students to work in both public and private settings as an art therapist. Through our professional certificate in counselling skills using the arts, this will provide students with the opportunity to practice as adult counsellors.

Child Therapy / Child Psychotherapy
The Child Therapy programme provides students with the latest neuroscience and psychology understandings of child mental health. This training includes two clinical training courses, one of which is a three-year MA in Integrative Child Psychotherapy that leads to qualification as an art psychotherapist. A 2-year child counselling course leading to BACP registration to practice as a qualified child counsellor. For students interested in taking on more complex cases to become a child psychotherapeutic counsellor with UKCP registration, we offer an optional training year.

Child Counselling
This course page consists of a Diploma in Child Counselling which prepares trainees to work effectively with troubled children experiencing trauma, loss, and attachment difficulties and bring about therapeutic change. Upon completion, students can register with the BACP as qualified child counsellors. There is an optional third year of training leading to UKCP registration called the Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling for students who wish to take on more complex cases.

Diploma in Counselling Teenagers
The course is for people who are passionate about helping teenagers. The course qualifies delegates to work with 12 to 25-year-olds. This means being able to work in both colleges and universities. This course comprises a wealth of age-appropriate therapeutic interventions, clinical skills practice, fascinating theoretical underpinnings from the latest research in adolescent psychology, sociology, neuroscience and medicine.

Diploma / Certificate in Trauma Informed Schools & Communities
This practical skills-based training course underpinned by over 1000 evidence-based psychological, medical and neuroscientific research studies, is designed to inform and empower school and community staff to respond effectively to vulnerable children/young people who have experienced trauma and/or have a mental health issue.

Post Qualifying Diploma in Integrative Child Psychotherapy
The purpose of this training is to address the increasing number of health professionals who have completed adult training but are interested in working with children and young people. It is open to anyone who has completed a three-year course in integrative art therapy and would like to further their training to be able to work with children and young people.

Therapeutic Play
We are delighted to introduce two short child therapy programmes. They both run over 12 weekends. The Certificate in Counselling Skills using the Arts will equip you with key skills in counselling children using art media and play media to develop and deepen the work. The Certificate in Play Therapy focuses on a wide range of therapeutic play techniques including Attachment play, The Parent- Child Game, sandplay, puppetry, directive and non-directive play interventions. Upon completion of either course, students will be able to use art forms to engage children therapeutically in order to help them heal from painful life experiences.

Parent-Child Therapy
This 7 day online training course aims to empower practitioners with a wealth of evidence-based interventions that support both parent and child mental health. The training is backed by cutting edge research on the neuroscience and psychology of parent-child interactions (over 800 research studies). This training is for practitioners who work directly with parents and children in schools or organisation.

Wellbeing Courses
In the Well Being Course, students are taught 10 modules over 11 terms, which includes a clinical placement to prepare them for a career in promoting children's and young people's wellbeing. In 3 years, you will become a child therapeutic wellbeing practitioner or, after 4 years, you will be a child therapeutic counsellor.

Post-Qualifying Certificate in Working Therapeutically with Adoptive Families
This training course will equip qualified therapists with key knowledge and skills in undertaking therapeutic work with adoptive families, and help you become eligible to provide adoption support therapy funded by Adoption Support Fund monies.
