I have worked all my professional life with children, young people and their families or adults to support their health and well being; initially as a nurse, and then as a Counsellor, prior to training as an Integrative Child Psychotherapist (MA) at IATE. I have significant experience of working in health and education (primary and secondary) as a therapist. I have worked in several different schools and managed a team of therapists working in schools throughout West Sussex. My professional experience has provided me with experience, and skills, working with children and adults from all sections of society, often at times of significant difficulties, as they required nursing or therapeutic interventions. I have management and professional supervision skills both of qualified and unqualified staff. I have run many therapeutic groups and a peer support team at a secondary school. Through providing a nurturing relationship and a secure base, I work alongside a client to help them explore their inner worlds. Exploration aided by the arts of painting, sand tray, play, bodywork, clay and music can help a client work through their experiences by using metaphor.
